YeÅŸim Tekstil Implement FastReact Evolution
The Company
YeÅŸim Tekstil began operations in 1983 producing home textile products such as bed linen and tablecloths. By 1985 they had moved into the ready-made garment market. Today, they are one of the leading textile producers both in Turkey and worldwide, supplying world famous brands such as Nike, Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Lands' End, Eddie Bauer, Schlafgut and many more.
Employing approximately 3,500 people, YeÅŸim Tekstil operate within a 240,000 sq m facility. The daily production capacity is in the region of 250,000 pieces (which consists of 150,000 pieces of ready-to-wear garments and 100,000 home textiles) and the business is continuing to grow.
YeÅŸim are a fully vertically integrated manufacturer from yarn to finished product, their main processes include knitting, printing, fabric treating and apparel manufacturing. This vertical manufacturing approach means that YeÅŸim are able to offer an unrivalled level of service to their customers.
The Challenges
As with any modern apparel manufacturer, visibility and control of the entire manufacturing process are key. This is made especially difficult in the fast moving and fully vertical manufacturing environment at YeÅŸim. Prior to the implementation of FastReact, planning was performed on a series of disparate systems and although the planners could ‘cope’ they were not always able to make the best decisions due to their lack of visibility, nor were they able to easily see the consequences of these planning decisions.
The Solution
In order to further improve customer service and the speed of response to customer queries, YeÅŸim Tekstil have implemented FastReact Evolution which gives them both high level visibility of order status and also provides detailed line level planning. This two level approach means that the planners are now immediately able to identify free capacity for new orders and also plan in detail at line level to maximise sewing efficiency whilst still ensuring on time delivery. The use of the FastReact pro-active critical path management and material requirements planning (MRP) functionality ensures that all pre-production activities are completed and materials are available on time so that production can start on schedule. In addition, the Pro-active Desktop facility is being used by senior management to give a control tower view of the key indicators within the business.
The Conclusion
Åženol Åžankaya, CEO of YeÅŸim Tekstil “FastReact has provided us with much improved visibility of order status, such that we no longer need to keep such a high level of safety stock. The installation of FastReact has enabled our planners to focus on the key issues and improve our on-time delivery performance”.
