Portfolio 2008 Ltd selects VisionPLM to streamline business processes and support further growth
The UK ladies and menswear company is implementing Fast React’s (now Coats Digital) browser-based PLM, to provide instant access to accurate information, plus a new level of visibility and efficiency.
Portfolio specialise in designing and sourcing ladies and men’s nightwear, outerwear, ski-wear and jerseywear, for some of the UK’s leading high street retailers, including Arcadia, Next, Marks and Spencer and Tesco. Working closely with select garment manufacturers in China, India and Pakistan, Portfolio has built an excellent reputation for high quality design, product and service, at competitive price points. As the business continues to grow and secure new customers, the management team recognised that existing systems, Excel spreadsheets and manual methods would not provide the fast access to accurate information which is so essential to responding to market pressures for increased speed to market and price point sustainability.
''We were attracted by Fast React’s (now Coats Digital) unparalleled experience and reach through the fashion supply chain, and a solution which places effective critical path management and supplier collaboration at its very core.''
Ian McEvoy, Managing Director, Portfolio 2008
Portfolio had been in discussion with Fast React Systems (Coats Digital) for some time and were aware that the server based version of VisionPLM was already used successfully in a number fashion retailers, brands and sourcing businesses. Managing Director Ian McEvoy commented, “We were attracted by Fast React’s (Coats Digital) unparalleled experience and reach through the fashion supply chain, and a solution which places effective critical path management and supplier collaboration at its very core. The fact the new browser based solution can be quickly accessed by our team and suppliers, the enhancements which make the software even more intuitive to use and the consultative approach to implementation, meant that we were keen to become one of the first businesses to implement VisionPLM.”
VisionPLM is a modular solution, allowing companies to select the options which most closely match their particular business model, and is available in a largely pre-configured, ready to use format which reflects industry standards and best practice, or fully configured for larger enterprises or to suit more specific requirements.
The portfolio solution includes Product Manager, Costings, Purchase Order Management, Supplier Collaboration including capacity management, Remote Updates, Critical Path Management and Reporting.
Stuart McCready-Stocks, Head of Business Development and Lead PLM Consultant said, “We are delighted to be working with Portfolio 2008 and supporting the further growth of a business which enjoys such an excellent reputation for fashion design and sourcing. I am confident that VisionPLM will provide the Portfolio Team, and their suppliers, with fast access to ‘a single source of the truth’ and the information they need to continue to drive further improvements in business performance. Ultimately, this will allow Portfolio 2008 to continue to deliver high quality design, product and services, only faster and more efficiently.”
